Svetlana Smolina arrives in Argentine Patagonia with an unforgettable piano recital
Renowned pianist Svetlana Smolina, one of the most distinguished figures in contemporary international classical music, will arrive in Argentine Patagonia for a piano recital that promises an evening of exceptional virtuosity and profound musical expression.
The concert will take place on Sunday, March 8 at 9:00 PM, at the Teatro Español in Neuquén, a key cultural center of southern Argentina. The program will include emblematic works from the classical, romantic, and twentieth-century repertoire, offering audiences an artistic experience of the highest international standard.
Born in Russia, Svetlana Smolina has built a remarkable global career, performing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. Her collaborations include appearances with the Mariinsky Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the New York Philharmonic, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Orchestre National de France, and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, among many others.
Her presence has also been prominent at leading international festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Ravinia Rising Stars Festival, as well as at iconic venues including London’s Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Rome’s Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
Beyond her performance career, Smolina has developed an important discographic and media presence. Her recordings and performances have been broadcast by NPR, BBC, PBS, and RAI, and her participation in the acclaimed recording of Stravinsky’s Les Noces under the direction of Valery Gergiev earned the International Classical Music Award (ICMA), one of the most prestigious distinctions in classical music.
Since 2011, she has also served as Director of the Piano Program at the Philadelphia International Music Festival, combining artistic excellence with a strong commitment to education and cultural development.
